Visualping meters two things at once: how many checks you run and how many distinct pages you monitor. The $14/mo Personal 1K plan gives you 1,000 checks but caps you at 10 pages, so a single busy page can consume the whole allowance while nine slots sit empty. Sken.io meters only checks. You can spread 500 checks across as many monitoring tasks as you like.
On raw cost per check, Visualping’s entry plan is competitive — 1,000 checks for $14 works out cheaper per check than 500 for €3. The reason to look past that number is what each check is allowed to do, which is the subject of the next section.

Check frequency: the real difference
This is where the two products genuinely diverge, and it is the section worth reading if you skip the rest.
Visualping treats check frequency as a product tier. The free plan checks hourly. Personal 1K at $14/mo checks every 15 minutes. Personal 5K at $35/mo gets to 5 minutes. To reach a 2-minute interval — still not a minute — you need Personal 10K at $70/mo. Frequency is the upgrade lever.
Sken.io does not tier frequency. Every paid plan, including Basic at €3/mo, can run monitors at 1-minute intervals. The trade-off is honest and arithmetic: a 1-minute monitor burns 1,440 checks a day, so a €3 plan with 500 checks supports roughly eight hours of one continuously-polling monitor, not a month of it. Sken.io’s model assumes you will run most monitors at a relaxed interval and reserve minute-level polling for the moments that matter — a ticket drop, a restock, a contract page during a negotiation window.
Who this matters for
If your monitoring is steady-state — check 40 pages every hour, forever — Visualping’s volume pricing is the better structure and you should take it. If your monitoring is bursty and time-critical, paying $70/mo for a 2-minute floor is poor value compared to €3/mo for a 1-minute one.
How each tool detects change
Both products support the three detection modes that matter in this category: a visual diff of a screenshot, a text diff of rendered content, and targeting a specific DOM element so unrelated page changes are ignored. Neither has a meaningful advantage on raw detection quality.
Sken.io adds a third way to define the region you care about. Beyond cropping a visual area and picking an element, it offers AI-assisted selection that identifies the region from the page itself — useful on pages where the markup changes but the visual component stays put, which is common on sites that ship frequent front-end deploys.
Visualping’s differentiator is on the output side rather than the input side. Its AI change summaries write a plain-language description of what changed, and its "important change" flagging tries to suppress alerts for cosmetic edits. On pages that change constantly for boring reasons, that noise reduction is real value and Sken.io has no direct equivalent.
Sken.io keeps up to 12 snapshots per monitoring task, which is enough to see how a page evolved over recent changes but is not an archive. Visualping’s Business plans retain a full year. Alerts and integrations
Sken.io ships eight delivery channels and gates none of them: email, Slack, Discord, Google Chat, webhooks, Zapier, push notifications through the Android app, and the Chrome extension. A €3/mo account can post to Slack.
Visualping’s free and Personal plans cover email, webhooks, a REST API, an MCP server, Telegram and n8n. Slack, Microsoft Teams and Google Sheets require a Business plan starting at $140/mo. SMS unlocks at Personal 5K ($35/mo) — a channel Sken.io does not offer at all.
One practical note on Visualping’s API: calls draw down the same check quota as your scheduled monitoring rather than having a separate allowance, so heavy programmatic use eats into the monitoring you are paying for.

Where Visualping is the better choice
We would rather you pick the right tool than pick ours. Choose Visualping if any of the following is true:
- You need a free forever plan. 150 checks a month across 5 pages, with no expiry, is more than a trial gives you.
- You want change summaries written for you. AI summaries and important-change flagging cut alert fatigue on noisy pages, and Sken.io has no equivalent.
- SMS or Microsoft Teams is where alerts must land. Sken.io covers neither.
